Scene 1 Central Park Richard: Good-morning to all who reside in Central Park on this Monday morning.
Fred: Well aren’t u in a good mood Mr. Cory
Richard: Well of course I am, I had my annual Sunday night party with all my lady friends.
Fred: Lucky you, I could hear your party last night all the way down here.
Richard: Did my party disturb you?
Fred: Only a little bit, but it doesn’t matter, as long as you were happy last night.
Richard: Why thank you and have a good day to you sir, I’m off to make my round tip around the park.
Fred: Well good-day sir. (He walks all the way around the park with a big smile on his face that everyone can see, even from afar. Then he makes his way into his favorite book store.) Scene 2 Jill’s Bookstore
Richard: How is the book business these days Jill?
Jill: Its doing okay, but you are still my best customer.
Richard: I came to buy another few books and to return you earring, it was in my bed when I got up this morning.
(Face turns red of blush)
Jill: Well thank you Richard, I had no idea it was there.
Richard: Well I’ll just browse around for a few minutes then pick some books.
Jill: Was I the only girl in your bed last night?
Richard: I could never imagine another girl being in your place in my bed, and if there were more then they would know about me and you and that would be bad for your reputation.
Jill: So that’s why no one knows about me and you, but we have been seeing each other for over 6 months, and I do imagine more girls then me being in your bed so tell me the truth Richard.
Richard: Yes there have been more girls than u in my bed, but it has been at random times when I am at the bar drinking and a girl seduces me to bring her to my bed then I wake up the next morning thinking it’s a dream, but you are the only girl that makes me happy.
(She turns her head only to get a sympathetic look on her face.)
Jill: I’m sorry for accusing you Richard, its just that you have your party every Sunday and I leave around 12 and the party doesn’t even till about 3 and that makes me worried about what you are doing.
Richard: Well you have nothing to worry about my dear, you are my one and only, now I am off to find my books.
(He looks around in the fiction section for about ten minutes, while turning to look at Jill’s beauty every chance he gets, and then finally he stumbles upon Of Mice and Men. He goes over to Jill and asks her about the book.)
Richard: Jill what is this book about?
Jill: Well it’s about two men during the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl who are traveling together looking for jobs and a place to settle down in when one of the characters is mentally challenged and that gets them into a lot of trouble.
Richard: Now that sounds like one good book to me. How much?
Jill: It’s on me.
Richard: No Jill, I can’t and I won’t, I’m going to pay you and plus the only thing on you is me if u know what I mean.
Jill: Stop it Richard.
(She says it only to hide the fact that she doesn’t want him to stop.) Richard: Here just take the hundred I love this book store, so just take it as a donation.
Jill: Why thank you Richard, when do you think will be the next time I see you.
Richard: Drop by my house anytime; I’ll always have time for you.
Jill: I think I just might show up around 12 if that’s ok.
Richard: Sounds good to me, well see you soon bye.
Jill: Bye. (It is now one in the afternoon and now Richard makes his way to The Johnson Hotel.) Scene 3 Johnson Hotel H.E: How are you Mr. Cory?
Richard: I’m fine John, how’s the business going.
H.E: Very well, how may I help you today?
Richard: My usual luxury suite.
H.E: Alright then see you when you check out.
Richard: Don’t get your hopes up.
(Mr. Cory arrives at his suite and gets comfortable on his bed. Then he hears a knock and opens the door.)
Richard: Good you’re here. Did anyone see you?
George: It wouldn’t matter id they did because I’m not in my uniform.
Richard: Good, so have you found out yet?
George: Yes I have and the information is with me.
Richard: This is some crazy stuff, so just tell me.
George: Alright Richard you have monkey pox and you have 5 hours before you die.
Richard: Damn how could this have happened?
George: Probably from all of those parties with all of that unprotected sex.
Richard: Before I die I want you to test Jill from the book store.
George: Alright bye Mr. Cory.
Richard: Good-bye George.
(Mr. Cory picks up the phone and calls Jill)
Richard: Hi Jill.
Jill: Hi Richard.

Jill: Uh… bye now you S.O.B
(After that phone call Richard paced around the hotel room and finally came up with a final decision.)
Richard: Monkey Pox here I come.
(All that is heard is a gunshot through Mr. Cory’s head and a note giving Jill all of his money.)
